Albury-Wodonga Attractions

Albury Botanic Gardens

Albury's beautiful Botanic Gardens have been established for over 130 years and give residents and tourists alike the opportunity to see and admire the historical and horticultural significance of the gardens. Over the years, the gardens have won many prizes for layout, design, plant species and annual plantings. The curved paths and rounded shrub beds give a softer, less formal look to these gardens which once had straight paths and rows of pines, elms and other trees.

Murray River Precinct

Flowing between the twin cities of Albury Wodonga is the mighty Murray River – a unique natural playground that’s enjoyed all year round. Lining the banks of the River, Albury boasts a series of parklands and reserves that allows visitors and the local community to enjoy the beauty of the river. At Noreuil Park you’ll find places for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, bike riding and just relaxing. The mature River Red Gums and magnificent Plane Trees provide a welcome canopy in the summer months to those enjoying the water or taking in the views from a food-laden picnic rug.

Lake Hume and Hume Dam

With a spectacular backdrop of undulating hills, and the awe-inspiring Dam Wall taking centre stage, Lake Hume is magnificent from every angle. Only 15 minutes from town, the gentle, rolling slopes of Lake Hume make it very easy to set up for the day, then cool down with a quick dip as the sun climbs high in the sky. Built between 1919 and 1936, the Hume Dam is nothing less than an engineering triumph. Viewing platforms at various points along the wall offer stunning photo ops, and perfect picnic spots at nearby Kookaburra Point, with BBQs in place for a great family day out.
